What is DELYVERE?

For over 130 years, KEHS has delivered an outstanding education to girls across our city. It has transformed lives and enabled successive generations of young women to achieve extraordinary things.

From the 1940s leavers who were often the first in their families to attend university, to last year’s graduates, 20% of whom received degrees in male-dominated fields, KEHS has a long history of nurturing tomorrow’s female leaders and innovators.

For many generations, we could offer this opportunity to all, irrespective of household income. However, since the complete withdrawal of government funding, the proportion of girls at our School on Assisted Places has declined starkly: from 80% to 20%. Today, up to 30 girls each year have to turn down their place owing to a lack of funding.

In 2014, we established The KEHS Trust to address this need by increasing the number of Assisted Places each year. Old Edwardians, parents and local industry have already embraced this vision, taking the first steps towards restoring accessibility to our School.

DELYVERE marks the next step in ensuring that any bright girl can consider a future here. Taking inspiration from our foundation stone, DELYVERE provides a chance for our community to support the next generation of KEHS talent: girls who will go on to do whatever they put their minds to, shaping communities across a range of fields. Together we can realise this aspiration – and those of the girls themselves.

We schal delyvere five new Assisted Places each year. By 2020, 25% of girls at KEHS will have an Assisted Place.
